Pointers When Seeking Your Golf Bag

golf training aids

One of the most useful pieces of golf accessories is the golf bag. While this bag was first invented just for carrying a golfer’s golf clubs, today there are many styles made that have multiple pockets to allow you to carry all of your accessories and items you may need on the course. Many golf bags have a place for your water bottles, cell phones and other essentials. Depending on the bag that you choose, what you carry is totally up to you. While you can carry most any bags made for golf, there are also golf bags that are designed specifically for carrying around and are lighter in weight.

Some golf bags are made out of leather and some are made out of plastic, yet golf bags serve the same purpose whatever the material. It is just a matter of longevity and looks. If you are concerned about how you dress, then it may also be important to you to have a cool, top quality bag. However, the bags are not made for looks alone, as their job is to carry your golf equipment and accessories, such as your golf gloves, tees and perhaps some of your golf apparel. Some bags may carry more belongings than others. Different styles of bags will have more pockets on them than other ones will. Some may be made out of waterproof materials. If you are still in golf training, then a very expensive bag is probably not a good idea.

If you are looking for a golf bag that has a lot of storage, and you are always going to be able to utilize a golf cart, then a cart bag is your best bet. These bags have a large amount of storage and are heavier than the carry bags. Of course, the main job of golf bags is to carry your golf clubs. However, wouldn’t it be great to have a bag that can carry everything that you need? If you are choosing to utilize one of the heavier type cart bags, then you will be able to carry not only your clubs, but whatever else you want.

It is important to keep your clubs vertical at all times and the golf bag helps to do that. When you go to your golf store to buy a new bag, always identify the requirements first. What all do you want to carry? Then you can select the material when you go. This will save you a lot of time and also save you from having to buy the right bag later. It is not something you buy everyday, and thus it is very important to make the right choice in the first place.

Brilliant golf gadgets

So here it is the top five golf gadgets to help improve your addiction to sport. These gadgets don’t just have to be on the course but can be a bit of fun for the home environment. Some of them could even help improve the normal electric golf trolleys.

5. No more will the ball fall off the tee
This is a fantastic idea for when you are practicing driving at your local course as this can contain around 30 balls and at the push f your club the ball will automatically get put onto one of the tees which is a brilliant idea for saving time watching the ball fall off the tee every time you bend down to put it there.

4. The big daddy driver
Although cheating its great for when your with a couple of friends just playing a recreational game of golf. If your ball is always seeming to head into the rough then why not cut the rough off altogether with this amazing gadget that is cleverly disguised as a driver. Brilliant gadget.

3. The club that keeps your drink cool
This gadget is great as it is disguised as a club and will pour any liquid you put into it straight into any cup at the touch of a small button. This gadget is brilliant for when you cant afford the highly priced drinks at the golf clubhouse.

2. A chip island that floats
Great idea if you have your own swimming pool as you can attempt to chip the ball onto the island. This is a great idea as the balls are made of velcro so they will actually stick to the tiny island so hopefully you wont be diving in to get them every five minutes. A great way to enjoy this gadget if you dont have a pool is to go down to the local public pool, wonder how long it takes before being kicked out!

1. The golf ball that is actually remote controlled for great fun
This is by far the best golf gadget as after you have hit the ball if it doesn’t quite make it to the hole you can control it in. Although cheating it is a brilliant idea for when your having a mess around round at the golf course or for impressing your mates with all the "practice" you have put into the game.

Although your better off buying the plain golf gadgets like golf batteries these will help you if you want a bit of laugh whilst playing.

Are games taking over from sport?

In the last few years the gaming industry has grown immensly and it seems the problem with a lot of sports like golf and tennis is that you only watch them if you actually play the game. How close are the comuter games compared to the real sports? Do you really get any excercise at all from playing the sport in this way? The best way to put it is . . . perhaps.  Obviously if you are buying say a golf game for the 360 or PS3 it is not going to do anything apart from save you money on one of those electric golf trolleys.

A big problem is that if you were to purchase a golf game on the wii the only part of the sport you are going to miss out on is the walking part. A lot of the pro's in golf do not bother to even walk the course as it is so how much are you really missing out on. Game devlopers are always looking to improve the games they are making and this has become more of a competition than anything and the Wii is taking advantage of this by using its powerful motion sensing technlogy. When you’re playing golf it feels like you are playing golf and the same goes for tennis and any other sport where you only really use your hands. The new Wii atachment is out later this year which is going to put motion sensing technology at an even better rate than it already is now. This means game developers will certainly be more inclined to make the games for the Wii even more realistic than before. So is this really having an affect on anything? A good idea if you are short of cash and want to just have a laugh but not so great for all the time instead of playing the sport. No need to even be dressed in your best golf gear to play golf on any of the consoles, a great idea.

For me I love computer games however I do feel that they should stop making sporting games more realistic and concentrate on making the ones you can go out and do better. It would be a great shame to see the people who start up playing sports and become big starts to decline due to the fact games are becoming ever more realistic and more entertaining.

So next time your stuck between going out in the rain for a round of golf or plugging in the Wii for a bit of a game, stop and think, the real thing is always better so charge up those golf batteries and get playing!

Online Golf Assistant

Golf is massively popular and as you would expect there are thousands and thousands of sites about it.The difficulty for the amateur golfer is that there is just too much info.

When you go to Google or any other search engine and type in the information you are looking for you will receive a bewildering number of websites that might offer what you are looking for.

For example just as a random search I have just gone to Google and typed in “buy new seven iron” without the quotation marks.  I have been returned no less than 18,600,000 results.

This is of no use to me.  I am suffering with information overload, particularly as a quick look through the first page of websites suggests a lot of narrow websites rather then a the general overview retailer that i was hoping for

As another example I have tried “golf course in Arizona”.This time we get 3,400,000 web pages returned.

It occurred to me that there must be a solution to this; a way of cutting through the overwhelming amount of information supplied by the might of Google.

One day I was struck by the solution (not a golf ball).

What I did was to create my own golf toolbar.  Just in case you don’t know toolbars are the lines of icons that sit above the main window of your computer screen.

In the toolbar I put in my favorite golfing websites so that whenever I wanted golf information it was there at the top of my screen every time I was online. The result was I could visit my favorite course finder, retailer and news center as I wanted.  No more messing about with Google and facing a bewildering choice of websites.

I still use Google sometimes for golf searches but in general I know that the best websites are available right at the top of my screen everyday.

I thought that it would be a good idea to share my golf toolbar and so here it is.Anyone can see it and decide if it is for them.It downloads in seconds and is guaranteed to be completely safe.

At the moment it has a top golf store, training aid site, news section and a weather forecast, a site where you can organise golf vacations plus some games and utilities such as a calculator.

The Golf toolbar.

I think its very handy and hope that many more will.  It is completely free though it’s only fair to point out that if you do buy anything through the retailer on there I do get a commission from them.

I hope that you enjoy the golf toolbar.

The Golf Course Finder toolbar.

Stack and Tilt: What’s All the Fuss?

Stack & Tilt

If you’re like most golfers you probably dream about achieving a longer straighter and altogether more consistent swing - I know I do. If only you could eliminate those occasional (or not so occasional) truly dud shots forever. Well you might just be able to do that now. Have you heard of Stack and Tilt? Probably. But do you actually know what it’s all about? I heard about it a year or so ago but it’s taken me until very recently to find out what all the fuss and let me tell you the hype is justified. If you haven’t heard of it it’s basically a new type of golf swing which is taking the professional world of golf by storm.

Golf Swing Whisperers’ Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett are the brains behind Stack and Tilt. It took twenty years of painstaking research but the wait was well and truly worth it as there is a revolution taking place. What’s astonishing is that the theory is more or less the opposite to what you and most golfers have been taught about how to swing a club.

Although the Stack and Tilt Golf Swing maintains some of the basic principals, there is one fundamental difference which sets it apart from ‘normal’ golf swings- it doesn’t involve the golfer shifting his or her weight to the back foot. Your swing is greatly improved through maintaining the weight on your front foot rather than transferring it to the back as you do in a ‘normal’ swing.

The main benefit of the stack and tilt method is the huge improvement to consistency. The actual execution of the swing is simplicity in itself and yet you will see your ball go further and straighter than ever before!

If you would like to get a bit of Stack and Tilt into your game then why not try the Stack & Tilt Golf Swing Dvds risk-free for 60 days. In that time you will definitely see a vast improvement! And start seeing some dramatic improvements in your handicap.

Golf Swing Analysis Software: Who Needs It?

If you want to improve your golf swing and you can dedicate time and of course money to it then golf swing analysis software could be just the thing you need.

It’s fairly common for people to purchase golf swing analysis software without first considering the computer requirements they will need. There are lots of people who know how golf swing video analysis software programs function. It’s a good idea to double check that your personal computer has the correct system requirements to run the software properly.

When you purchase golf swing analysis software, check the package labels to see if your computer system matches the requirements needed by the software. These things are necessary because if your computer does not have the parts required or it is improperly configured, the analyzer program will not run and be useless.

To get the best out of this software you should check to see whether your computer hardware configuration meets or exceeds the recommended minumum requirements. Evaluate if your computer meets these system requirements and if possible provide more than those.

It takes literaly only a few seconds for you to complete a full golf swing from start to finish. Television channels use fancy cameras to obtain a good video of a professional’s golf swing. This allows the television show to analyze the components of the swing and for the commentators to discuss it in detail. Since you will only be purchasing it for your own use you will not need special cameras. Still, you will need to have a decent camera that can record your full swing and then be able to easily upload it to view tih your software.

To reiterate, it is always a good idea to check the packaging of the golf swing analysis software and see what its requirements are. Check the camera requirements specified by the software manufacturer to make sure they will work together. Know the requirements and try to get a camera with features a little more than those so that you can rest assured that it will work with the system.

Have a good monitor

A very important aspect to your golf swing analysis software program is the monitor you will view it on. The screen should be big enough so that the images from the software can easily be viewed on the monitor. The resolution should also be sufficient enough so as to allow the software to produce a perfect picture on the screen. As already stated, check the golf swing analysis software label as it should also provide you with the minumum monitor specifications.

Utilizing Golf Club for Various Aims

In general, most people often relate golf club with something high class and class discrimination. This is because people generally assume that golf club doesn’t have any function except for playing an expensive game of golf and only the elites who can pay money for a green fee.

Do not be surprised if the golf club turns into more flexible now by golf catching on in enjoyment parks and high school around the world. Therefore, it is very reasonable that everybody should carry one in their car.

Usually, a spontaneous game of golf is not entended at an escaping on the thruway while you’re driving home. So you may be wondering at what the possible golf club’s utilities could be outside of the golf course.

Some of these uses are obvious and others not so apparent. Yet, when you put your mind to it you’re sure to know a heap of uses for the golf club without paying for a green fee.

You can utilize a golf club as a device apparent  to get in your home when you get locked out of house. This is one of the golf club advantages outside of the golf course.

This concept also applies to getting into your car after you have locked your keys in there but that requires you to utilize the golf club as a sort of cane. People may question the logic of such doing domething.  However, when they see the quick and swift way in which you retrieve your keys from a locked vehicle they are certain to welcome the idea.

Gardening and Other Jobs around the House

A golf club would also make a cheap weed wicker for your lawn and the process of removing weeds with your golf club can also act as your work out for the day.  It all rolls as one into one nice little package if you really let your mind go.

You can use it to take out that horrible hornet’s nest from under your roof though you may want to wear long sleeves for that.  It can also be handy at removing icicles from your roof as well but this requires a higher level of safety preparation that you may not be inclined to participate in.  If that is the case then you may would like to pass on the icicle removal.

You can see now that a golf club might be used to a variety of purpose aside from golf course. However, you must always take into account that anyone can use this club as a crime instrument. For this reason, as with any vigilante act, please take caution before trying to get in touch with the law.

What’s In A Club Pro’s Golf Bag

I have been a Golf professional since 1976 and have used quite a few golf companies during this time when choosing the right golf bag, golf glove, golf clubs, golf shoes etc etc. for my game.
I am not one of the tour pros who get paid vast amounts to promote their products; I have to pay for mine albeit at a discount on the trade price. So this is not an advertisement for the company, it is my honest opinion as a Golf Professional on the quality of the golf gear I use.

The Titleist PROV-1 is beyond question the best golf ball I have ever tried and has been in my golf bag for many years; in all truth I must have used a titleist golf ball for at least 2 decades. When I first started playing golf it was a Dunlop 65 fresh out of the wrapper, for those of you too young to remember golf balls used to be packaged in a wrapper back in the 1970’s and before. My oh my doesn’t time fly by. Anyway what was i saying? Oh yeah, why the PROV-1? - Simple really, it goes a long way, flies high, stops on a dime and has a lovely soft feel for those pitches and chips around the green. Enough said.

My glove of choice is a Titleist Players golf glove or a Footjoy Sta-Sof golf glove, both are made of high quality cabretta leather giving you a superb feel and they are very comfortable to wear. A lot of casual golfers use the All-Weather glove or synthetic versions, but I have never liked the feel of them and although the leather golf glove is more expensive they are well worth the extra money in my opinion. I know a few of you guy’s use the synthetic glove because it has an extra pad on the heel of the palm to help with wear and tear. Nearly every golf glove wears out there first, some faster than others. But that usually stems from a faulty grip on the golf club, gripping the club too tightly at address and loosening your grip at impact, causing excessive wear and tear on your glove. But that’s another story, see your local pro and he will help with this.

The golf Irons i use are the Titleist Z-Blend Forged with a dynamic gold S shaft and tour velvet grip. They are a blended cavity to muscle back forged iron, this means that the long irons are cavity backed, the mid irons are a partial cavity and the short irons muscle back blade. This is not new technology but it is nonetheless a fantastic innovation, help where needed in the longer irons gradually blending to a blade type short iron for that classic look and playability. I love these irons, they are great to look at and have a lovely feel off the club head. In my humble opinion you cannot beat a forged golf club head for exceptional feel and playability.

So there you have it, just a few of the things you will find in my golf bag. The best golf ball, the best glove, the best irons and the best golfer of all time using them. OK scrap that last comment, we all have our dreams.

have a great time on the golf course, look after your golf equipment and if you are struggling with your game find a golf professional you like and respect and get some golf lessons from him. If you practise the changes in your game then you will reap the rewards from them in the long run, if you don’t, then it will be just like all the other golf tips you have discarded as being no good.

Golf Preparation

Golf is a game of ups and downs – one minute you are playing the game of your life and the next you can’t do a thing right. So how do you get consistency into your game of golf? The simple answer is through practice, because every one of us if we are being honest do not visit the practice ground very often.

I appreciate this is not easy; we all lead busy lives and find it difficult to spare the time for practice right? So if you can’t find the time to get to the driving range or practice ground at your local golf club, then you have to be better prepared when you do get the chance of a game of golf.

I see it all the time, hurtling down the road at the last minute grab the clubs, sprint to the first tee and before you know where you are your handicap has been used after 6 holes. Ask yourself how many times you have played the back nine better than the front nine. The majority of golfers will say the back nine, and the simple reason being, they have warmed up by then and are playing at their normal pace and in control.

Here are a few tips to help your golf, without having to spend hours at the range.

1. Arrive earlier at the golf club; give yourself an extra 20 minutes before you tee off. This will allow you to relax and organise yourself for the game ahead.
2. Use the extra time to stretch those golf muscles, use 2 clubs together and gently practice the movements in your golf swing, slowly building up to a full swing.
3. The few minutes you then have left should be spent on the practice putting green getting used to the speed of the greens for the day. If it’s allowed hit a few practice chips around the putting green, although most if not all golf courses don’t allow it.
4. Make sure you arrive at the first tee 5 minutes before you are due to tee off, this will give you time to exchange cards with your partners, arrange terms of your game for the day etc and it will allow you to organise yourself and prepare for the first shot of the day.

Allowing yourself the extra time to prepare will get your round off to a good start and not the usual frantic dash to the first tee with stiff muscles trying to make a decent golf swing, then finding yourself off to the usual bad tee shot and resulting poor golf until you warm up and start to relax.

DON’T DO IT  !!!!!!!!!

Do yourself and your golf game a huge favour by following these few tips in golf preparation, and give yourself the best chance to enjoy those precious few hours on the golf course. Your leisure time is priceless, so make sure you get the best out of your game of golf.
